My Research

For my paper I chose a topic that i found interesting. I always thought that the american revolution was an interesting topic. I was always wondering what the tactics where and how the weapons were different. So the Topic i chose was How does the tactics of the Americans and the British affect the outcome of the Revolutionary War. So far i have found many article review major battles and giving a brief insight into the tactics. Through how which side defeated another.

How did the Tactics in the Revolutionary war affect the outcome? This question is one that has be asked many times. Most americans believe that the militia out fought the British. But truly they out smarted them. Ib the beginning of the war the American's were losing the battles yet they were not losing numbers like the british were. Why did this happen? The British military deployed a tactic that placed their men in ranks and within the ranks they stood in strait lines. This tactic allowed them to fire constant rounds at very high rates in to a small area. Yet it lead to venerability that caused many soldier to perish in battle. This cause a depletion of british troops affecting their strength in other encounters ultimately causing the british to falter and for the Americans to take what they thought to be their's.

Research update

My research is going steadily and slowly. I find about 1 or 2 sites very day. But i have to cross reference them. so far i have 8 sources. But only 5 are annotated. I find it hard to write about the reliability of the sources.

I hope to finish my research before friday. But that means that i need to pick up the pace. I need to begin to annotate right when i find the source. I still haven't found a primary source yet.

book response

I finished The Rise of nine finally. But don't get me wrong i loved the book. But i wanted to finish it so i could move onto another series that i have been dieting to finis the Pendragon series. I like this series because its is Si fi like and is very action filled. For todays post i wanted to talk about other wolrdy stuff like extraterrestrial life and what i would be like.

Every one says that life on other plants would be like life on earth. I say that no life on other planets would not be like human life on earth. I think it would be different but it may share similarities. And people who say that extraterrestrial life is smarter than humans aren't necessarily correct. My logic is that if lions who aren't as scophisticated as we are can live as long as we can then less intelligent life forms on other planets can. But i do think that there is a chance of extraterrestrial life in the universe.

Book response

In the trilogy so far i have began to see a pattern at the end of each book some main character dies. But i haven't finished the third book yet so i don't know which main character dies. so for this response i wanted to give some logical reasons as to why the author kills off these important characters.

My first thought is that they do it for the audience to add suspense into the book. My second bought is it is a marketing ploy to get readers to by the next books. Third i thought that it would have significant meaning later in the series. finally the last reason is that the author just wants to add some spice into the series.

Free Post

For this blog post I wanted to talk about new years resolutions. Every new years a person can decide weather or not to make resolutions for the new year. Personally i believe that the goals that you make should be set high to make your self strive for the best. To strive for the best is well simply what you should want to do.

You should also attempt to cover your entire being: school, home life, spiritual. and social. What i mean to say is that you should try to make your entire self better if  it is a smudge it is a smudge in the right derection. I also want to state that people who tell other people that their goal is implausible to achieve are just hurting the person they are talking to. So please be respectful of that person's goal.

Evil

Evil is prevalent throughout LOTF we see it in characters even some of the good ones. We see evil in actions. We see evil in what is one the island. But through chapter 11 we see five big points where evil is present. The first being Rogers thoughts, action, and words; so basically Roger. The second is the lord of the flies and the swapping of butterflies to flies. The third begin the chant that Jacks tribe sings at their banquets which could be related to the beast for its about it. The Fourth is the Deaths and how they happen. Finally we see what Golding is trying to get across the entire time; the evil in us.

First Roger he is described as this sketchy murderer who smiles when he kills the sow the sign of adult civilization, or when he kills piggy he is said to have a grin from ear to ear. This is a truly evil and cruel begin, and when he speaks this doesn't go away he suggest that they beat poor robert with sticks for fun. Second The lord of the files, the description of this decaying pig's head on a spit that has flies exploding from it is not one that promotes good. To ad insult to injury Golding makes the head talk to Simon our symbol for kindness and and allusion to jesus in this daemonic tone, telling him you will die, by your friend's hands. The trading off of butterflies to flies in that area is a symbol of good's reign ending and evils turn on the throne.

Third is the chant that jacks tribe sings at all of their banquets it is Kill the beast! Slit his throat! Spill his blood! This chant is exclaiming that they want to kill the beast another symbol of evil, and to kill something is evil. To kill a being for fun makes the intention of these boys singing the chant and the chant itself evil. Fourth and the build up of the chant leads us into the killing of simon where the group of boys kills him in a brutal and evil way. Simons death was accidental though while piggy's was purposeful. Piggy was not doing anything and then Roger our symbol for evil hits him with a rock and sends him flying over the cliff. This death purposeful and roger doesn't even feel remorse about it neither does jack they both shrug it off and keep up their sadistic ways.

And last but not least is five, Golding in this book gives his opinion of what human nature is. I believe that he is saying with all of this evidence that human nature is evil. The only way to be the exception is to Reform your self. Notice the evil characters are stronger and last longer than our good character. Even ralph has moments of evil and cruelness. I think that most people think that humans are good. Yes per say they are when inside civilization but when you put anyone on a deadly island and force them to survive i think that the true human nature would come out. We are selfish, mean, brutish and EVIL creatures that is what Golding has said through his characters.

Semester Reading

This smelter has been a bit over whelming because to was hard to adjust to high school life i didn't get as much reading as i wanted to done. This quarter i read with was the shortest and easiest of the three I read. The middle book was The Power of six it is a sequel to one of my favorite books I am number four. And last but not least the longer book i read this semester was The rise of nine.

Next semester i would like to active reading more books at a higher rate. But i would also like to challenge myself to read more difficult books. That are longer and for a more adult audience. Next semester i would also like to read more often.

Thanks For Reading
