This generation has had many a types of music: Dubstep, Pop, and Rap. These are all types of music that kids in this generation listen to. But some people claim that our generation of singers were the created of these types. But in a sense these are stolen music types.
These music genres originated from past forms of music. the most elusive form of thievery is rap. But the earliest forms of rap were in the 70s music actually contained some of the most primitive forms of rap. And dub step actually was formally called House music and was used in clubs when our parents were younger. An pop has been around for ages and has probably decreased in quality. In my opinion. So why don't we get our own types of music.

This is an interesting topic, Cameron. I think it would be a cool thing to write a paper on or have a class debate about. After all, everyone has their strong opinions on music.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get our own types of music because no one does. House developed out of early 80's techno. Dubstep is from a mix of house and drum and bass, a recently developed style of electronic music. Dubstep has many different elements, but house tends to be better in my opinion. ReplyDeleteRap has developed fairly independently, and that's more than can be said for lots of genres.
I'd agree with Gavin on this one, rap really just kind've sprung out of the ground. Additionally, it's my opinion that there are pretty much no "original" ideas, and I'd just LOVE to see you come up with a dubstep song by yourself. If you're going to rip on others for not making new music, perhaps you should look to yourself first. Also, please fix your grammar.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dru, this would be a good thing to discuss in class, i thing discussing the language our generation has developed in these different genres would be a good topic also.
ReplyDeleteI see where youre coming from but I think that we do have our own kind of music because we took what was already there and changed it to make it better and more original. So there are two sides to this, did we make it or evolve it?
